Rob Dekker
President and founder
Rob Dekker is the principal developer of Verific’s HDL source code software. Prior to founding Verific, Dekker was a Software Developer, Manager, and Director at Exemplar Logic where he was the architect and a primary developer of Leonardo, Exemplar's flagship synthesis product which has sold over 10,000 copies worldwide. Dekker started his career with Philips Research in the Netherlands, where he worked on testability of VLSI circuits. He graduated form Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, with an MSEE.
Michiel Ligthart
Chief operating officer
Michiel Ligthart has extensive background in engineering, product marketing, and general management. Prior to joining Verific, Ligthart was VP and GM of west-coast operations for Theseus Logic, a startup in asynchronous logic. Before that, he spent 8 years with Exemplar Logic in engineering and marketing roles. Ligthart started his career with Philips Research Labs in California, and was a visiting scholar at the Center for Integrated Systems at Stanford University. He has an MSEE degree from Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands.
Rick Carlson
Vice-president, worldwide sales
Rick Carlson is a 23-year EDA veteran of the electronic design automation (EDA) industry joining Verific from AccelChip, where he held a similar position. Prior to AccelChip, Carlson held positions as vice president of sales for Averant, Synplicity, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNP), Escalade, now part of Mentor Graphics Corp. (Nasdaq: Ment), and EDA Systems. Carlson also founded the EDA trade organization the EDA Consortium in 1987. He holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago.
Abhijit Chakrabarty
Managing director, India operations
Abhijit Chakrabarty is in charge of Verific's development team in Kolkata,
India. His core expertise is in algorithm development and software design.
His unique expertise is in synthesis tools for Verilog and VHDL coupled with
in-depth knowledge and understanding of object oriented programming with
C++. Prior to joining Verific, Chakrabarty was with Delsoft India Pvt Ltd.
as a manager for their synthesis product 'Concorde'. Before that, he was
with Exemplar logic, USA, now a part of Mentor Graphics, where he worked on
Verilog, VHDL, and FPGA synthesis. He holds a BS in Electronics and
Electrical Communications from the Indian Institute of Technology,
Kharagpur.

Bob Gardner
Bob Gardner is the executive director of the EDA Consortium, representing 100 companies in the $4 billion Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry. He has held senior management positions at several semiconductor and EDA companies. His past affiliations include Signetics/Philips, AMD, Exemplar Logic, Design Acceleration, Bridges2Silicon, and ITeX. He graduated in 1966 from California Polytechnic College, Pomona, California, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering. He is active in instrumental music education and performance in Silicon Valley’s community and at Trinity Church, Sunnyvale, CA.
